Our cotton pouches
We knew we wanted simple, sustainable pouches for our jewellery. We were not convinced typical jewellery boxes were entirely plastic free so we had to find the alternative and did so with cotton pouches. We had found exactly what we were looking for, the product we had imagined using so called sustainable materials, excellent! But we encountered a problem, there was no information on who was making these pouches, where they were being made and how much those who were making them were being paid to do so. This left us feeling pretty hopeless, but all we knew is that we didn't want to buy into this system of insincere "sustainability" for the sake of ease. So we kept it authentic, ordered another logo stamp, plant-based ink and found truly sustainable materials which in the process supported other small businesses and made them ourselves! It doesn't get more sustainable than that!
We plant trees!
We proudly teamed up with Ecodrive who allow us to ensure our customers that every order placed, plants a tree...not just any tree, but a mangrove! Mangroves re one of the highest carbon reducing trees on the planet. Not only do they aid in the absorption of carbon but they also protect coastlines and communities against storm surges and are a crucial part of coastal ecosystems.
Future plans
We are continuously revising techniques and strategies to ensure we are as eco-friendly as possible, we are also completely open to suggestions from our customers as to how we can progress with this further. We are currently looking at how we can accurately offset our carbon emissions produced by the electricity our little workshop uses.
